WHO IS FDR DESIGN?

FDR Design, Inc. engineers, manufactures, sells, and services machinery and components for the production and testing of gas filled, sealed insulated glass units. Since 1988, we have provided the fenestration industry with long-lasting argon and krypton gas filling and testing equipment.  Along with providing equipment, we foster long-standing relationships by being an information gateway to the industry.

New standards mean new challenges -- and that's OK because we have exciting news from an old friend, MOCON.  The  MOCON OpTech- O₂ Platinum, a state-of-the-art O2 analyzer using optical fluorescence technology offers solutions for the analysis of gas concentrations in sealed or unsealed IGU's.  With the ablility to even measure through low-E coatings, the OpTech is proven to be the most flexible, accurate and repeatable testing method available.  Even more exciting is the ease of use, reliability, durability and simple calibration of this new sensor technology. 

FDR has worked with MOCON to introduce the OpTech - O₂ Platinum to the fenestration industry.

The Pressures_and_Stresses calculator for Excel was inspired by the work of K.R. Solvason in the Technical Paper No. 423 of the Division of Building Research Ottawa.  "PRESSURES AND STRESSES IN SEALED DOUBLE GLAZING UNITS" by K. R. Solvason, August 1974.

An easy to use Excel calculator to help visualize how changes in pressure, changes in temperature, and wind loads affect the airspace volume.
